Glitter Clothes Pins

The other day my roommate and I were hanging out on google (because she lives in Washington) and talking about our room next year.  We came up with all kinds of awesome ideas for decorations! I was super excited and couldn't wait to get started making them!! The very next day I went out and bought the stuff to glitter clothes pins.  We decided we were going to use them to hang pictures on ribbon around our room.  After I bought everything that I needed I got right to work!

Everything I needed.

The first thing I did was cover a clothespin with modge podge (I only did one side).

Covered with modge podge.
Once it was covered I sprinkled lots and I mean lots of glitter over the clothespin.  After there was a big pile of glitter on it i flipped it upside down to get all the extra glitter off.
Once they were all dry I put another layer of modge podge on top of the glitter, so that all the glitter wouldn't fall off.  Then they were done!

So sparkly!!!
They turned out so cute I cant to be able to hang them up all around my dorm!

Apple Pie Cookies!

Sorry that I haven’t posted anything in awhile I was on vacation and I didn’t have any Internet while I was there.  I’m working on a post all about my vacation for you guys, so look for it soon. Once I got home from an internet free vacation I immediately got onto pinterest to see what I had missed and I found lots of great stuff, like always.  But one of my favorite things that I found was a recipe for apple pie cookies.  One of the main reasons I was so excited about this was that my boyfriend absolutely loves anything apple pie related, so I knew that I had to make them.  I followed the like to Oh, Bite it!, found the recipe for these delicious looking cookies, and I could not wait to make them!
All you need to make these is:
  • 1 box of pie crust (there are two crusts per box)
  • 1 can of apple pie filling
  • 1 cup of caramel sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs nutmeg
  • Flour
  • Something to cut your cookies

Once you have all of your ingredients the first thing you should do is roll out the pie crust and sprinkle it with flour and roll it out so its nice and thin.  Once the crust is rolled out pour some of the caramel sauce onto the crust and spread it out, you won’t need a lot of caramel just enough for a thin layer. Next your gonna have to chop up the apple pie filling into tiny pieces.  Once you have all the filling chopped up you can spread it out on top of the caramel, just add little bits at a time so you that it doesn’t get too thick.
My pie crust covered with caramel and pie filling
After the whole crust is covered with pie filling roll out the second pie crust and cut it into strips.  Then create a lattice crust on top of the caramel and the pie filling.  Dip your cookie cutter, or in my case glass, in to an egg was (1 egg and a little water) and cut out all of your cookies.  Brush the tops of the cookies with rest of the egg wash.  Then sprinkle the tops of the cookies with cinnamon sugar and nutmeg.  The last step is to put them in the oven for about 20-25 minutes at 350, until they are golden and firm.
My finished sheet of cookies!!
These cookies were even more delicious than they looked on pinterest!!  I was able to make twelve decent sized cookies from this recipe and they were all gone within a couple of hours, so I have a feeling I’ll be making them again very soon!  I would love to hear if any of you tried this recipe!
